- Weekly NP clinics to assist with acute, high-risk and chronic residents’ clinical care
- Assistance with AN-ACC assessments and clinical audit compliance
- Mentorship and education for facility clinical staff

What is a Nurse Practitioner?
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice registered nurse who has the following skills and qualifications:
NP Skills:
- Diagnose and treat patients
- Prescribe medication under the PBS
- Perform advanced patient assessments
- Refer patients to specialists & order diagnostics
- Provide support, guidance and mentoring to the clinical team
- Work with and support the facility GPs
- Facilitate collaboration and communication with various stakeholders
- Assist in reducing unnecessary hospitalisations
NP Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing and a Master of Nursing
- 5,000+ hours advanced clinical hours
- Can act autonomously, if required
As NPs are registered nurses, the direct care hours they provide count towards a Providers’ Aged Care minutes.
