All Australians are invited to join Ageing Australia and say a massive ‘thanks for caring’ to our dedicated and compassionate care workforce to mark Aged Care Employee Day in one weeks’ time.

Their care is personal, selfless and often unsung – making a difference in the lives of older Australians every single day.

Aged care, retirement living and seniors housing providers — along with residents, clients, families and loved ones are gearing up to show their appreciation with morning and afternoon teas, celebrations and heartfelt messages of thanks to the dedicated workers who care for their loved ones.

Currently there are around 456,000 aged care workers in Australia[i], with approximately 1.3 million Australians receiving aged care services[ii].

We know how essential our aged care workforce is in helping older Australians to age well. Aged Care Employee Day is an opportunity to recognise the skill, compassion and dedication of the people who make this possible every day.

The winners of the Ageing Australia You are ACE! Awards will also be announced on the day, with finalists published on Thursday 30 July, as chosen from the over 470 You are ACE! nominations received throughout the year.
